12:55 GMT - We were notified of a an issue occurring with MySQL on cPanel stating "cpmysqladmin unknown error has occurred".
We currently have no further reported issues and from rigorous testing our services are back online and continuing to function as normal. We do not any of the above action has caused any disruption above and beyond service, however in the instance there are any problems following our checks and inspection of numerous websites, the following articles are available to help you get your website back online -
13:30 GMT - investigations were under way to discover the route cause of the issues and anticipate a possible fix without downtime occurring, we are were implementing a fix a bug was discovered that was causing severe error messages with InnoDB, a function of MySQL which affects some of our user websites. During this period of investigation,
15:00 GMT - SQL services were knocked offline during an update as the restart service was experiencing an issue with establishing the correct permissions for the MySQL directory. Following a reboot, we then experienced problems with a disk check as with our main web server last week.
16:00 GMT - Our SQL server was then bought back online at 16:00 following the check and we continued with urgent update work to restore services. During this time we experienced problems with InnoDB being unable to load correctly, thus creating problems for the overall MySQL service not being able to start.
16:20 GMT - At 16:20 GMT we implemented a fix to restore MySQL connectivity for users not using InnoDB which meant we could continue to provide service to the majority of our customer base whilst fix problems with InnoDB.
17:00 GMT - During 16:20 - 17:00 GMT services were restarted on several occasions to test whether the fix for InnoDB had worked.
17:30 GMT - Upon discovery of a fix, we then put this through testing before deploying live onto our MySQL server at 17:35 GMT, restoring availability for all users.
